A wonderful family dinner at The White Swan
Tonight was our first visit to The White Swan in Stratford-upon-Avon, but not our last! We decided to go out for dinner somewhere in town where we hadn’t been before, and we chose The White Swan purely because last time we walked past it when it was dark outside, we had remarked on how cosy it looked inside with all the live candles everywhere.
Candlelight and Danish ‘hygge’
And cosy it was. Candles, lovely place settings, beautiful and traditional decor with lots of nooks and lit fireplaces. It was ‘HYGGE’, that’s what it was. And we love Danish ‘hygge’, so the dinner got off to a great start even before we ordered.
Great for kids
The menu was great, so many delicious dishes to choose from, and this included the children’s menu that came with colouring pens and the best restaurant colouring in book we’ve ever come across. Our daughter is vegetarian and her special request was met with a smile.
All of our meals were absolutely delicious and exactly as described on the menu. The stars of the meal was the salmon croquette starter and the children’s brownie puddings, but only by a small margin, because everything was truly outstanding.
From start to finish, we enjoyed the high level of service and friendliness of the staff. Our main server was Tomasz and he was fantastic, no request was too much and he made all of us feel very welcome at The White Swan.
We look forward to coming back again (and again).
