    We ♥ Stratford-upon-Avon’s Big Wheel

This afternoon we went on a lovely ride on Stratford-upon-Avon’s brand new attraction, the big ferris wheel by the river. It was a fantastic experience for us as a family. Great service by ground staff, only £5 to ride (£4 for children) and we went around 3 times, so we had plenty or opportunity to take all of the stunning views in.

We could see for miles and miles

And what views they were. Since the opening just a few days ago, we had held out for the perfect weather conditions and this afternoon we had just that. Beautiful sunshine and just a few clouds – we could see miles and miles away from our ‘pod’ on the wheel, absolutely amazing sights wherever our eyes turned.

Our famous town from the top

From the theatre and the centre of town to the river and the bridges on one side of the wheel, to the parks, the residential areas and Stratford Butterfly Farm on the other, it was truly wonderful to be offered the chance to see what our famous town centre looks like from so far above and to see so far in the distance on all sides.

The fun continues on the ground

When we got back on the ground, we sat down outside by the new Riverbank Cafe for coffee, cake and ice cream. Super service by staff, great coffee and cake, and the perfect view from the tables outside of the river, the theatre, the green and the big wheel.

    We ♥ Stratford-upon-Avon’s Big Wheel

We had a super time on the wheel and will definitely be back again when we have friends and family to stay, but a super experience and a good time today is not the only reason we’re excited about Stratford-upon-Avon’s brand new Big Wheel. There’s also the fact that it, while it stands by the riverside for the next 6 months, will bring more visitors to our town and will act as a pretty addition to the Stratford-upon-Avon skyline. It’s simple, really: We ♥ Stratford-upon-Avon’s Big Wheel and we’re sure you will too.
