It’s now possible to stay in the historic, One Masons’ Court, believed to be the oldest house in Stratford-upon-Avon dating back to the 15th Century. This venerable and incredibly beautiful building is bang in the centre of town, only about 1 minute’s walk from the centre with plenty of things to do and keep you occupied.
Step off the main street, through a private walkway and suddenly the town is behind you, and you enter a small courtyard shared with a few other historic homes, peace! Inside, it is meticulously presented – smart furnishings and colours mix well with incredible period features to create a light home ideal for families as much as couples. The kitchen has everything you need, should decide to ‘stay in’ and cook (although why would you with so many fantastic eateries just moments away?!).
The cosy living area has seating for four people with a 42in wall mounted TV. Up the old stairs to two good sized bedrooms and a great, contemporary bathroom with roll top bath and walk in shower – all with slick chrome fittings.
As “bolt-holes” go this is as good as we have EVER seen. History and fun await in this top-of-the range Stratford holiday home and we can’t imagine staying in a hotel ever again!
