Shakespeare’s Midwinter Magic
It’s Thursday night and we’re just back from a truly spectacular after-dark experience at Shakespeare’s New Place. We went to the ‘Midwinter Magic: Dance-Circus Spectacular‘ and, as advertised, it was exactly that!
We started the evening in the best way possible: With the most delicious hot chocolates and mince pies.. ahh, yes!
The circus performance was set in the gardens at Shakespeare’s New Place with the lit trees and sculptures on one side and the house on the other creating the perfect backdrop.
Modern dance and contemporary music
The award-winning dance-circus company, Motionhouse, performed with everything they had, gliding through the contemporary gardens of Shakespeare’s New Place, exciting the audience with incredible acrobatic sequences, all inspired by Shakespeare’s work. Through hyper modern dance and contemporary music that could be heard throughout most of the town, I’m sure, they told tales of the timeless themes of Shakespeare.
As the performance moved through the garden, the audience was invited to move with them and follow their theatrical and wonderful performances… a very exciting event.
Get your tickets before it’s too late
